The Compatibility Database

Table of Contents

CodeWeavers maintains a searchable Compatibility Database of Windows games and applications, documenting how each title has been reported to run in CrossOver on Mac and Linux. If you're wondering whether a specific game or app works before you buy or install, this is the place to check.

With a free CodeWeavers account, you can contribute too. Submit a rating for how a program ran in a particular version of CrossOver, add an application that isn't listed yet, and include screenshots of it running. Ratings are community and staff reported, so if you try something, please come back and rate it to help the next person.

What the ratings mean

Applications are rated from 0 to 5 stars:

  • Unrated (question marks): No ratings reported yet. Every entry starts here until someone submits a rating.
  • 1 Star, Will Not Install: The installer fails in CrossOver, usually a custom or non-standard installer, so there's no way to get the app installed in the first place.
  • 2 Stars, Installs but Won't Run: It installs, but closes or freezes on launch. Dependencies or workarounds may help, so check the support library for more details.
  • 3 Stars, Limited Functionality: It installs and runs, but with significant problems. Unresponsive clicks, garbled output, or crashes where CrossOver can't translate certain Windows commands. Check the app's Tips and Forums tabs for workarounds, and check back after future CrossOver releases.
  • 4 Stars, Runs Well: Core functionality works with only minor glitches. Some secondary features may not, but the app is mostly usable. The Forums tab often has app-specific details from other users.
  • 5 Stars, Runs Great: Practically everything works, the same as it would on native Windows.
